Sunday Brunch – Miah and Ann and John Eliot and Wolfie

Miah Persson, Ann Hallenberg, Peter Mattei, John Eliot Gardiner, the Monteverdi Choir...

...and Mozart. Need I say more? *

*Probably, but I wanted to make sure you had a chance to hear it. Then we can talk!
(If you don’t have a lot of time, at least take a few minutes to check out the soprano duel duet that starts at about 16 minutes in.)

  1. Thank you for ferreting this out! Wish Wolfie had written a bit more for the baritone though!

    1. You're welcome. I, of course, didn't find it till after I sprang for the DVD. Just think how massive (yes--pun intended) this piece would have been if Mozart had completed it! Something to rival Beethoven's Missa Solemnis and the Bach B-minor!

  2. Nope - no need to say anything more! Just one of those names would have been enough for me but all four of them... Fab :-) Great share, Rob (as usual).

  3. Now that I heard it all I can safely say that Mattei is one short mofo.

    2. I was wondering what you were talking about! Do you need the web address for Barihunks?

  4. Modern instruments, and what it looks like a doubled chamber choir! Bring. It. ON.

    1. Yah, the Eric Ericsson Chamber Choir and the Monteverdi Choir. The only thing that bugs me is they reconfigure for the double-chorus bits, during the big soprano duel.

  5. This was the Nobel Prize concert, I believe. The year Paul Krugman (yay!) received the Nobel in Economics.
