Dorothea Röschmann singing Faure, Liszt (somewhat surprisingly), Strauss, and Wolf
(less surprising) in recital from Wigmore on Radio BBC 3 (For
about 7 more days.)
Handel’s Ariodante in a 1997 performance from the Concertgebouw on Radio 4 Concerthuis (for about 16 more days) with Anne Sofie von Otter, Richard Croft, Marc Minkowski, and
others.
I want to (re)listen/(re)watch all that but there are only so many hours in a week!
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of all those together, has Roschmann ever sung the Marschallin? (Bad idea?)
She has (opposite Magdalena Kozená as Octavian)! And Earworm thought it was a good idea -- twice: http://earwormopera.wordpress.com/2012/12/19/strauss-der-rosenkavalier-staatsoper-berlin-12-18-12/
DeleteFrau R also sang the Marschallin in about 2007 which, handily, you can buy on CD from here: http://www.premiereopera.com/3392-3derrosenkavalier.aspx And it has Malin Hartellius as Sophie!
DeleteMH as Sophie -- SIGH!!!
DeleteMichelle beat me to it - I was about to mention that same 07 bootleg!
DeleteI was thinking you'd clued me in to that one before.
DeleteSo much musical goodness in one post, Rob! You may have outdone yourself with this one :-) I think I'll focus on Der infamous Rosenkavalier since I now have offline options for listening to Frau R/Malcolm Martineau's truly wonderful recital as well as the exact version of Ariodante in the picture you have posted (which is also truly wonderful, and every home should have a copy).
ReplyDeleteThanks, PG. I think I may have to get that DR Rosenkav. (and I also have offline options for that Wigmore program - wink, wink)
DeleteLovely, thank you for both links.
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure!
