I am rapidly becoming a Miah Persson fanboy (in case no one noticed yet). I am taking an intermission break between Discs 1 & 2 of the Glyndeborne Cosi, and wondering where the line is between fanboy and stalker.
One major reason that this Figaro is so wonderful is that two of my most favorite sopranos are in it. I wonder if we could convince Malin Hartelius to do Cherubino with these two...or maybe they would do a Cosi round robin! Forget fantasy football. I want fantasy opera casting!
Or we could do Don Giovanni: Roeschmann as Elvira, Hartelius as Donna Anna, and Persson as Zerlina (which she sang really charmingly in that ROH version from 08)
I love this one too - they make it sound so spontaneous.

I'm with you on fantasy opera casting - I would love to hear Hartelius, Persson and Roeschmann together.
DeleteIt's not stalking until you find yourself going through their trash :)
Röschmann: Marschallin
ReplyDeleteHartelius: Octavian
Persson: Sofie
That would make my year . . .

I couldn’t agree more on your ” Dream Team”! But isn’t this production from ROH rather than Glyndebourne?

@earworm - Awesome!!
ReplyDelete@Juha - Thank you; and good catch. This IS from ROH. I have had Glyndebourne on the brain for the past week.
At least I know a new way to get comments: post incorrect information!! :)
Thanks for reading!!!
