  1. This was fun although Louis Langrée's Mozart is awfully polite. The Erika Köth thing later that day is also worth a listen.

    1. Thanks for the reminder about the Erika Köth program. I started it but I don't remember why I didn't finish.

      The most interesting bits of this program are
      1. Any Time MH is singing
      2. Comparing the Gluck to the Mozart settings of the texts. And in the "Ah! taci barbaro" I kept thinking this sounds like Eurydice's "anger" aria!

    2. My untrained ear thinks lots of Gluck sounds like lots of other Gluck. Not that that's a bad thing, necessarily.

    3. Well, come to think of it, other than one aria from Alceste, Orfeo ed Eurydice is the only music of Gluck I know. And yes, I suppose it's a good thing that Gluck's music sounds like other music by Gluck. He probably even did that on purpose!
