Here's another chance to hear Benjamin Britten’s War Requiem, originally broadcast in March by Bayrische Radio. The BBC will broadcast it on Radio 3, Wednesday May 8. The BBC usually archives these concerts for about a week after the broadcast.
The performance features Emily Magee, Mark Padmore, Christian Gerhaher, with the Tölz Boys’ Choir, the Bavarian Radio Choir and Symphony Orchestra conducted by Mariss Jansons.
While you’re waiting, don’t forget to catch Nina Stemme and Ian Storey with Donald Runnicles in (the first two acts of) Tristan und Isolde while it's still available.
And speaking of Mark Padmore and BBC Radio 3, he can be heard in recital next Monday from St. James’ Church, Chipping Camden. He'll be singing Beethoven, Schumann, and Britten.
